In the below conversation, Account Manager Ryan Hurley and Shako Farhad, Tech Lead and creator of the darts quiz, break down the formula. Discover how this game drives energy, excitement, and repeat visits.

Ryan: We know venues grow when guests come back. That’s why we focus on creating “sticky” experiences for our clients and their guests as well as in our own venues. Our Darts-powered quiz has become exactly that, BrewDog even called it their most popular guest pick. But what is it that makes this quiz so special?

Shako: I’ve always loved quiz nights, but I wanted to make them more inclusive and lively. The idea came out of something simple: a quiz where every throw and every second matters. You don’t even need to know all the answers to have fun. Like all our best products, it just makes you want to play. When we first tested it, it was clear this wasn’t just another quiz; it turned into an experience people genuinely connected with.

Ryan: Players really seem to love it.

Shako: They really do. Our own venues have seen it firsthand. Guests tell us they meet new people, make friends, and keep coming back. One group, who attended the summer quiz series in Oche Osle described it perfectly; they met by chance in mixed quiz teams, stayed for drinks, and ended up forming a whole new friend circle. That kind of organic connection is exactly what we want to encourage.

Ryan: That’s the magic,  it’s not just gameplay, it’s community-building.

Shako: Exactly. When you combine real-time play with shared stakes, you get energy that doesn’t dip. There are no dull pauses and every moment feels alive. It’s social gaming that feels natural, and that’s what makes it “sticky.”

Ryan: And the numbers reflect it, sold-out nights, repeat visits, loyal guests.

Shako: Yes, the Oslo series, for example, sold out multiple times over the summer, a season that can be pretty quiet when the locals skip town for their holidays. We noticed that guests didn’t just play once; they kept coming back. They became regulars. That’s how we measure success: not just in bookings, but in return visits and community growth.

Ryan: What’s next for the quiz?

Shako: We’re rolling out our next evolution right now. It’s an automatic version of the quiz that lets venues run quizzes with or without a quiz master, with dynamic question sets and pacing. It will be tested in our venues in the next few weeks and available to clients soon. The goal is the same: keep people playing together, again and again.
